Eddie Guerrero Vs. Shawn Michaels - What If?

Hello everybody, I'm OG, and today I decided to travel back to 2005-2006, and to do a WHAT IF scenario, this time, I will talk about what if Eddie hadn't tragically died, and a scheduled dream match between him and Shawn Michaels was happening?

Before I begin, I would like to give credit to @Curbsideher0 on the Eddie Vs. Shawn picture.

His page is here in the link. : https://instagram.com/curbsideher0?utm_source=ig_profile_share&igshid=qm46inslxhcw

Background Story:
According to Bruce Pritchard, who was a major writer and a backstage personnel at the time, if Eddie didn't sadly passed away, the WWE was supposed to go through a plan which eventually leads us to a historic dream match, Eddie Guerrero Versus Shawn Michaels. Due to Eddie's tragic passing, it didn't happen and we got other plans instead.
I decided to "jump back in time" and book a "What If scenario" of what if Eddie was alive and all being happened as planned.

Let's start.

Part One : November 2005. Raw Versus SmackDown.

It all begins with the announcement of a 5 on 5 cross branded elimination match, to find out who's the dominant brand.

On Smackdown, Teddy Long picks Eddie Guerrero as team captain, and his teammates are Batista, Rey Mysterio, Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton.

On Raw, Eric Bischoff picks Shawn Micharls as team captain, and his teammates are Big Show, Kane, Ric Flair and Triple H.

During the month before the PPV, two brand invasions are happening. Everyone fighting except for Eddie and Shawn who agreed "truce" until Survivor Series, but then last show before the PPV, the truce ended as Shawn broke the agreement by accident as he Superkicked Eddie when he aimed to kick Batista who dodged out.

Survivor Series, Eddie and Shawn the last two remaining (after Eddie eliminated Triple H). A staredown begins and then they throw blows at each other, as the match goes on, Eddie attempts a Brainbuster, out of nowhere Shawn counters to a Rollup, to give Raw the win!

After the match, Eddie shook hands with Shawn, like a true sportsman. But.. Eddie looked unhappy, he gave Shawn a cold look during their handshake.

Part Two: January 2006 Royal Rumble.

In January 2006, Eddie and Shawn announced their entry at the Rumble.
Eddie Recieved Number 12
Shawn Recieved Number 25

In the Match, Eddie and Shawn stayed as the final 3 along with Rey Mysterio who was the winner of the rumble.
During the final moments of the match, Shawn got eliminated by Eddie, who got thrown out by Rey Mysterio.

Yes, not a lot happened in January. But it's still a part in the story.

Part Three: March 2006. WrestleMania 22.

The buildup begins on Raw, As Eddie shows up on Raw to have a special announcement. The shocking announcement was that after WrestleMania 22, Eddie is going to retire from wrestling, and he wants to retire in the best way possible, by making a dream match come true.
So Eddie calls out Shawn Michaels. Challenging him and Shawn agree. And for the 3 remaining weeks to WrestleMania, they will team up for some tag matches.

During the 3 weeks they team up, trash talk happens but not an attack.
In fact the only attack happened on the last Raw before Mania, after Eddie&Shawn beat Chris Masters and Carlito, as Shawn superkicks Eddie and tells him he would Never beat him.

And now, it's time for WrestleMania 22 weekend !
The day before WrestleMania 22, Eddie has been inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame. During Eddie's speech, Eddie trashed on Shawn and roasted him, Shawn was angry, he came to the stage and they had a faceoff, without any agressions.

Now the match, Eddie and Shawn managing to give one of the best matches ever, which ended with a win by Eddie Guerrero, after the match, Shawn gave Eddie the respect and they both embraced.
The short dream rivalry ended. With a good taste.

Final Part: What if?

Now, the last subject I'm going to talk about,
is what if Eddie was still alive today and how that could have affected the Wrestling world.

First off, it could help a lot to push the world of wrestling to today's new generation, as you know Eddie has a lot of fans and some of them are currently wrestling. Active wrestlers such as Sasha Banks, Seth Rollins and more...
If Eddie was alive, he would motivate them a lot. Who knows? Maybe even train them and help them to get better.

So that's it folks. I want to say it's a true bless for me to talk about two of my favorites in WWE History. I had the pleasure in 2005 to see Eddie Vs. Rey as the 1st pro wrestling match I have ever saw on TV, that's how this love started.
Thank you all for reading, I hope you enjoyed.
